Ground has officially been broken on the new Firehawk Aerospace facility in Lawton.

State and local leaders grabbed their shovels and hard hats for a ceremonial groundbreaking at the site of the future 40,000-square-foot facility, which will manufacture rocket fuel.

Among those in attendance were Governor Kevin Stitt and Senator James Lankford, who say the addition of Firehawk is huge for the future of Lawton-Fort Sill and the state of Oklahoma.

Very significant moment for them to look clearly across the country to determine where’s the best place for workforce. Where’s the best place for a friendly environment to actually do production and manufacturing? Where do we have the assets and resources we have like FISTA and other businesses that are here to build the synergy? They came straight here.

Senator James Lankford

Because when we have companies like this choosing to be in Oklahoma, that’s how this thing happens. That’s how the economy spins. That’s how we are funding education, infrastructure, healthcare all across the state.

Governor Kevin Stitt

The new Firehawk facility will be built on 320 acres of land on Goodyear Boulevard.

It is expected to create around 100 jobs in Lawton-Fort Sill. Construction is expected to be finished by May 31 of next year.
